Back to Senegal

I AM GOING BACK TO SENGAL!

I will be heading back early September. I will continue to work as a volunteer at the Deaf school
(École Renaissance des Sourds (ERS)) in Dakar, Senegal. My role will be assistant teacher to Serge (a great teacher at school),
which means helping in the CIP classroom and the afternoon art class. These are the same things that I did when I was there
January-May of this year, but some things will be added. I will also help keep different curriculum items stocked and circulating
between classes. There is a woman named Angela who has worked here for years who had many roles, but specifically
worked on curriculum. She has recently gone back to the states and I will be her assistant of sorts, at the school. I am also
really hoping to focus my time in the classroom towards the students with various learning difficulties and getting them more
involved in their own education.

I will be finding a French teacher while I am Senegal so I can begin learning and functioning more in French.
I currently have a very limited knowledge of French and would like to learn more so I can be more effective in school
 and getting around Dakar.

I will be living in an apartment close to the school. It is Angela’s apartment, and I will be sharing the cost with her.
She is in America but wanted to keep her apartment in Dakar for when she returns for a few months a year. I am excited
to have a place where I can host my friends and students! It will be a great opportunity for me to show them love and
get to know them better.

Please be in prayer with me about these things:
-        That I fight for and work on my relationship with the Lord
-        That I stay focused on what God is doing in America as I prepare to go back to Senegal.
-     For the Deaf community in Dakar, that Jesus will radically change their lives by
showing them that their worth is in HIM alone.
